it's kind of amazing how any thread on, say, lobste.rs where it seems like there might be anything interesting to say constantly wants by its very nature to drift into basic ethical and political concerns, which is "off topic".
i used to care about the nuts and bolts of this stuff. i used to think about this stuff and learn from it. lately i just fucking cannot.
